Shandong Xiangrui starts a new chapter of cooperation with Zhongjin Agricultural Machinery

On the morning of June 13th, a 12-member Zimbabwean government trade and procurement delegation, led by Solomon Muzangaza, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, visited Shandong Xiangrui Agriculture and Forestry Technology Co., Ltd., along with Director Murevi, Director Muzamire, Director Muhugaye, and Liu Yingjie of the Zimbabwean Chinese Business Association. This cross-continental trade agreement marks another successful step in Shandong Xiangrui's goal of "taking Chinese plant protection to the world," reflecting the vibrant growth of Sino-African agricultural cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Zimbabwe is a traditional agricultural powerhouse in Africa, with over 30 million hectares of arable land. However, its agricultural mechanization rate is less than 40%, and grain production has long been constrained by equipment levels. In recent years, the Zimbabwean government has proposed a "2030 Agricultural Modernization Strategy," planning to invest US$2 billion in upgrading agricultural machinery and equipment, focusing on importing high-efficiency plant protection machinery and water-saving irrigation equipment to improve the production efficiency of major crops such as coffee, tobacco, and corn.

Shandong Xiangrui Agriculture and Forestry Technology Co., Ltd. is a well-known manufacturer of self-propelled boom sprayers in China. The company's independently developed series of products are characterized by high cost-effectiveness, flexible operation, reliable quality, and high operating efficiency. The anti-corrosion body designed for tropical climates is more suitable for Zimbabwe's hot and rainy planting environment. The company also implements a full-chain service policy of "training + after-sales" to ensure the use of customer products.

During the inspection, the Zimbabwean representatives visited the company's production workshop in detail and spent a long time in the company's agricultural machinery exhibition area. Secretary-General Solomon Muzangaza even sat on the company's machinery with great interest, inquiring in detail about the technical characteristics and operation procedures of the company's machinery, and experiencing the driving feeling.

During the on-site operation of the intelligent sprayer, a fine mist evenly covered the simulated crops; the variable fertilizer applicator can automatically adjust the amount of fertilizer according to soil fertility, reducing fertilizer waste by 20%. "This technology is exactly what we need!" said a Zimbabwean official in charge of agricultural planting procurement on the spot. The first batch of boom sprayers will be customized for demonstration and promotion in Zimbabwe's major agricultural production areas. "Chinese technology allows our farmers to use efficient modern agricultural machinery."

After two hours of in-depth discussions, both sides reached a cooperation intention on agricultural machinery and equipment. The company also specially appointed Secretary-General Solomon Muzangaza as an "honorary employee" of Shandong Xiangrui Agriculture and Forestry Technology Co., Ltd. In the future, relying on the procurement needs of the Zimbabwean government, the two sides will promote more cooperation.

This cooperation is not only an equipment procurement but also marks the beginning of a new model of "technology export + standard co-construction." Shandong Xiangrui Agriculture and Forestry Technology Co., Ltd. and the Zimbabwean side have reached a consensus that, as cooperation progresses, an agricultural machinery training center will be established in Zimbabwe, with engineers regularly dispatched for on-site guidance; at the same time, they will participate in the formulation of Zimbabwe's plant protection machinery industry standards, promoting the implementation of the Chinese agricultural machinery certification system in Africa.

From equipment demonstrations and on-site operation experiences at the company to reaching a cooperation agreement, this cross-continental trade agreement not only writes a new chapter in Sino-Zimbabwean friendship but also outlines a vivid picture of China and African countries achieving common development through complementary advantages and two-way empowerment under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Currently, the domestic and international markets have a continuously growing demand for intelligent plant protection machinery, especially with the promotion of the concepts of precision agriculture and smart agriculture, the market prospects are broad. Plant protection machinery has evolved from simple spraying tools into a modern agricultural equipment system integrating precision agriculture, intelligent control, and big data analysis. They are not only powerful tools for pest and disease control but also the core support for promoting agricultural "reduction and efficiency increase," ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural products, and achieving environmentally friendly agriculture. With the corporate mission of "making it easier for farmers to apply pesticides and taking Chinese plant protection to the world," Shandong Xiangrui will also play a stronger "Made in China" sound in the global wave of agricultural modernization.
